The Big Bell Gold Mine is a gold mine lo ed at Big Bell 24 km north-west of Cue Western Australia. The mine was owned and operated by Harmony Gold at the time of its closure in June 2003 having produced 2.6 million ounces of gold during its lifetime but was sold to Aragon Resources Limited in January 2010.
Lo ed 24 kilometres west of Cue. This gold deposit was discovered in 1902 and was known at the time as Paton& 39;s Find. Near surface mining was undertaken until 1936 when a larger open pit operation was developed by Big Bell Limited or Premier Gold Mining Company and the town of Big Bell established.
Geology. The South Big Bell tenement is lo ed at the southern extension of the Mount Magnet-Meekatharra Greenstone Belt informally referred to as the Big Bell Greenstone Belt and forms the westerly limb of a large antiform structure. The belt has a strike length of 33 km and a maximum width at the Big Bell Mine of 1.5 km.

The Big Blow Chert is a stratigraphic marker horizon within the Bardoc Tectonic Zone and traceable for 25 kilometres. Indi ed and Inferred Jorc resources remaining is 325 400 tonnes of ore at 2.64 g/t yielding 27 600 ounces of gold. The lo ion is about 4 kilometres south of Bardoc and 600 metres south-east of the Parkerville mine.
